Do not give a enema to child under the following circumstances:
- rectal bleeding
- suspected appendicitis (fever, vomiting, diarrhea and abdominal pain)
- vomiting
- kidney disease
- dehydration
- electrolyte imbalance
- within 7 days of the previous enema
If in any doubt, consult your child’s physician.
